After the seal of a zinc-air hearing aid battery is removed, air enters the cell to activate it. After one or two minutes the voltage of the cell reaches its nominal value. It stays there over most of its life before dropping rapidly near the end. Because it is so constant over most of its life, the voltage doesn’t tell much about how much battery life is left.
